Cosmic dust and heat rays
Burn my eyes
A crater in my yard
By surprise
A darkened pilgrim stands there
Beckons me
The moment I have dreamed of
I now see
We’ve been waiting for this day
Your arrival in our age
You left all of us to die
Now you’ve come to justify
Why can’t we come with you
On your quest
Unless we learn the answers
We’ll never rest
We never got to know you
Or your tribe
We could use a new world
To divide
We finally made our first contact
Now the earthlings can’t turn back
We never learned their names
Maybe they’ll return some day
We didn’t come here to set you straight
We only want to learn of your race
There’s nothing here for us to see
This blackened world is not worthy

Her Body Was a Planet
14:12
|
|
||
Is this the afterlife?
Or is this some illusion?
No kingdom in the clouds
No answers to the questions
I feel my body fade
As I’m slowly drifting
Flashing lights invade
Every color surrounds me
And every star I see
The universe expanding
And yet I feel so small
Like dust upon a great sea
Random memories flood in
Like an image
On a computer screen
And all my sins replaying
In real time
The database of my mind
And now I touch the face of God
The other beings I always knew were there
I feel the warmth I never had in life
I further plunge into the great unknown
I ask if they could help me understand
My own death
But they do not hear me
These solar angels guide me silently
Through the stars
To my celestial glory
I am become the face of God
All my life I knew you were there
I look inside the arc of space and time
Finally my transformation begins!
Spinning in and out of time
New dimensions open up to me
Little knowledge I had in life
The third side is finally complete
So removed from humanity
Loved ones are so far away
Was it all worth it?
Will I forget?
Dreamless sleeping
Floating through the abyss
Space and time
No longer exist
Body’s melting
Mind turning to cosmic dust
Endless drifting
Swimming through a cosmic sea
My soul is being torn apart
My molecules expanded back into stars
I was once a grain of sand
I have now become the planet
